Her film ‘English Vinglish’ is all set for release this Friday at the
Box Office and thankfully there are no big banners or big actors
competing with it. That would help the film a lot in the first week but
the film is not the subject here – Sridevi is. In a country obsessed
with fresh unmarried faces and sultry figures, it was until now a matter
of shock if a leading lady from the not-so-yesteryears, married and a
mother of two decided to play the lead in a film even if in a completely
different avatar. The reason lies in the way Indian society perceives
its women.
